A Change of Plans
Initially, Dorna had set its sights on Singapore for this year's launch. However, due to the tight schedule between the Sepang test and the event, they opted for the more convenient Kuala Lumpur. And what a choice it was!
Kuala Lumpur: The Perfect MotoGP Host
Kuala Lumpur has long been a favorite destination for MotoGP. Several teams have chosen this city for their bike reveals, and the 2026 season launch did not disappoint. The iconic Kuala Lumpur Tower, standing tall at 421 meters, provided a breathtaking backdrop for the display of all the 2026 bikes.
A Night to Remember
As the sun set, the riders gathered atop the Permata Sapura Tower, with the iconic Petronas Towers shining behind them. It was a photo opportunity like no other, capturing the essence of this exciting sport.
The Main Event: Transforming the City Center
On Saturday evening, MotoGP transformed the city center into a street circuit. Dedicated garages for each of the 11 teams were set up near the Petronas Towers, creating a unique pitlane experience. The riders took to the streets, performing impressive wheelies and stoppies, thrilling the crowd gathered in front of the iconic towers.
A Star-Studded Lineup
While 2021 champion Fabio Quartararo and MotoGP sophomore Fermin Aldeguer were absent, the show went on with a stellar lineup. Even Jorge Martin, fresh from surgery, returned to the Aprilia RS-GP. Yamaha drafted in Augusto Fernandez to replace the injured Quartararo, and Gresini ran with last year's runner-up, Alex Marquez.
After each thrilling run, the riders made their way to a specially constructed stage in front of Suriya KLCC, a grand shopping mall at the foot of the Petronas Tower. All 20 riders took center stage, addressing the crowd and interacting with fans, creating unforgettable memories.

MotoGP also conducted interviews with team bosses, including the newly appointed Tech3 team co-owner, Guenther Steiner. The entertainment didn't stop there, with local band DOLLA and international stars PAWSA and The Script taking the stage to perform for the enthusiastic audience.
