Cathy in red garters? While the look may not have been Emily Brontë's style, it's a bold choice for Margot Robbie. After her groundbreaking work on the Barbie press tour, it's no surprise that Robbie and her stylist, Andrew Mukamal, brought their A-game to the 'Wuthering Heights' promo.
The duo collaborated with Chanel, Thom Browne, and Schiaparelli to create custom looks inspired by the Brontë sisters. But their most impressive surprise came from an archive pull: a John Galliano Dior spring 1992 creation.
For the London photocall, Robbie donned a full-length toile coat with pale pink shearling at the cuffs and neckline, reminiscent of a fusion between Penny Lane and Empress Joséphine. Underneath, she wore a black micro miniskirt and a red garter belt, fastened with a pink ribbon, staying true to the original runway look.
The only deviation from the original styling was in footwear. Mukamal opted for pale silver, pointy-toe pumps, a departure from the two-toned shoes Helena Christensen wore in the 'Napoleon and Joséphine' collection.
Robbie's approach to method dressing mirrors the film's unconventional costumes, showcasing her willingness to take creative liberties.
