He needed just 15 points going into the game to eclipse Chamberlain's impressive total of 31,419 points. Durant's shot with 7:57 left in the third quarter brought his career total to 31,422 points.
But here's where it gets interesting: Dirk Nowitzki currently holds the sixth spot, with 31,560 points. Durant, now 37 years old and in his 18th NBA season, is a 15-time All-Star.
