Determining your Version & Serial Number

To determine the specific version and serial number for the Knitware
program that you are currently using:

   1. Start the program and find the Help option on the main menu bar:
2. Click Help to display its menu.
3. On the Help menu, click the About... option:

IMPORTANT NOTE on Knitware Version Numbers

The version number for a Knitware program has 3 parts:
 the first two parts are the main version number, while the third part of the number indicates the maintenance release.

Using the example displayed above, the main version of this Sweaters program is 2.50, and it is maintenance release 2. So we would describe this program as "version 2.50" in general, but to be more specific, it is "maintenance release 2.50.2".

This is important because sometimes some problems may be fixed in a program and a special maintenance release will be issued. When that happens, everyone who already owns the main version can "upgrade" to the maintenance release at no charge.
